temporary splint until we could get to the orthopedist
Fallie got the okay to stop wearing the fracture boot yesterday. Her foot stopped hurting almost a week ago so it seems to be healed (doctor confirmed with x-rays and examination of course). Whether it was broken or sprained*, she didn’t slow down while wearing the splint or the boot and I cringed every time she skipped or jumped on her injured foot (which was quite often).
*You would think that a fracture would be easy to diagnose but we have learned after 10 broken bones (and two sprains) that they are not always easy to see on x-rays.

old one foot*
I took Fallie to the urgent care facility today. She has been limping on and off for a week but yesterday her foot looked swollen and it was hurting in a different place than originally described. Holy crap! How can you run around on a broken foot? How can you run around with TWO broken bones in your foot?! She has a splint until we can get in to see the pediatric orthopedist.
*She still has two feet but only one is working so we have brought back her old nickname.
