Fallie prefers building to sliding.
Finn went tubing down the street and this is the first time they have had two snow days in a row since we have lived here (since before Finn was born!).
another snow day?
It started snowing this morning and it is supposed to keep snowing all day! I was surprised that the Atlanta schools didn’t close (they usually close when there is just a threat of snowfall). Fallie’s teacher e-mailed a photo of her class and my kid, who HATES having her picture taken, was the happiest-looking one of all! Maybe they will be released early and get to play outside and have hot chocolate this afternoon.
Fallie made a gigantic snowball and then spent about an hour hollowing it out. She did look a little dangerous holding the stake and stabbing the snowball but no one was injured. The girl can focus.
ladybug
I was sent inside countless times over the past four days in search of dry gloves for the girl children. One time I grabbed a pair and noticed this little ladybug on them just before I passed them to Fallie. She would have noticed the insect right away.
Finn’s snow bunny
snow day
Seriously, they cancelled school today. In the recent past school has been cancelled just because snow was possible here. And then it DIDN’T snow! Hahahahaha.
inside out jim jams with a spoon under your pillow
Sometimes the old tricks work best. Last night, the girls turned their jim jams* inside out and slept with spoons under their pillows. This primitive appeal to the snow spirits was heard, and this morning, Fulton county schools have canceled classes for the day giving the girls their second ever no-school-snow-day. Not only that, but the ice cream factory has canceled all meetings and made office hours optional today, so I will be working from home.
*We had some British next door neighbors for a while when Finn and Fallie were younger, and a few of their expressions stuck. Jim jams can also refer to the D.T.’s, so it also has that going for it. Also, most of the kids in our neighborhood still refer to bicycle training wheels as “stabilizers.”
