Happy 89th birthday!
The matriarch part two
Three things:
- I’m drinking rum and cokes and I can barely resist sucking down the fizz immediately.
- My recent house guests left the rum and I cannot let it go to waste.
- My grandmother, Ola, always told us to drink our carbonated beverages right away, before the bubbles stopped. This always resulted in my brothers and I getting the fizz up our noses and it burned.
This display has been at Bays Mountain since I was a little kid. Inside the cave are little Plexiglas-covered holes with taxidermied animals behind them. It is awesome. The girl children (and their cousin) love it.

Grandma! or my mom!
I am still not feeling well (stupid sore throat!) and was not completely prepared for our school plans this year, so there will be lots of photos from several weeks ago. Please to enjoy.
We were walking to the deer habitat, counting how many were in there, when we realized that there was a wild deer on the path - right in front of us!
