There is a cemetery across the street from our closest Krispy Kreme and it has become a tradition to eat our doughnuts there. Today we paid attention to how old some of the trees must be and spilled a lot of powdered sugar.
Python regius
Finn and Fallie have been volunteering at the nature preserve close to our house for almost a year now. They have also attended summer camps there for the past four years in a row. Because of their knowledge and interest, they get to do cool stuff like hold two ball pythons at once. They also clean up a lot of poop.
I took the girl children to a raptors show despite the crowd and it was totally worth it. It reminded me of how much Fallie loves raptors and dreams of being a falconer. She answered every question correctly (in my ear, none out loud to the presenter) and I was still proud of her. Finn was equally impressed by the birds of prey and enjoyed the show.
Sceloporus undulatus
As we walked to the car after park day, Fallie spotted this little lizard and (after several attempts) I caught her. Finn got the emergency bug jar out of the car. It was not easy but we were pretty excited to catch her. Although Fallie really wanted to keep her, we took her to the nature preserve and the director was super excited to have such a fine specimen.
Fallie and I went for a short walk in the woods.
I made this little bag to hold my Cthulhu Dice.
