Finn, ready for laser tag
Last Friday, Finn went to a friend’s birthday party which included a few rounds of laser tag at a local “entertainment centre.” This is how she dressed (white is for losers, no really - they use black lights). She asked me to give her a battle pony and I cracked up.
It just started snowing and look at how happy Finn is!
Happy Birthday Hermione Finn
This picture is especially good if you listen to this at the same time. Finn had a Harry Potter themed birthday and of course she dressed up as her favorite character. You can tell by the look on her face that she was pretty excited and happy. I hope ten is a good year but I don’t want her to change too much.
new skull girl shoes
because she got the old ones more than a year ago and they are wearing out and have been worn while exploring countless times in the red clay and puddles and these were on sale and still there two days later in her size
Finn riding Tega
This is four year old Finn at the cabins we go to every summer. The pony rides are right outside the cabin we always stay in so there is no getting out of it in the morning. Sometimes I hate the pony rides… they take a long time, there are so many gnats, the smells, the poo, the line, who goes first. But look at her face! Both girls still talk about the old horse and pony who “went to live on another farm.” Tega trivia from the girls: she drank 7Up out of 2 liter bottles and she was the “big” pony at the farm.
panda bear face
This is the snow day a few weeks ago (yes, there was not really much snow but there was tons of ice!). I love the way she lied down on the driveway, in the snow, to have her picture taken with her snow creature. She was so happy that day.
The bad news is that this snow totally sucks for making snowballs.
sleet!
We keep hoping to get some snow but a little bit of sleet actually fell yesterday. Finn went on the deck to catch some of it (barely visible in her hair).
Don’t ask how this happened. The cat loved it. Finn finally gave in and pushed Gopher Guts off.
present from Finn
She made this in class on Friday: hot chocolate mix, sugar, white chocolate chips, M & Ms, chocolate chips, brown sugar and flour (maybe other ingredients but that’s all she remembered). Today we added vanilla extract, vegetable oil and eggs. The brownies turned out to be really delicious! Way better than I expected!
