I fed Badger today. The first cricket I picked up was hyper and about to escape so I threw it into Badger’s habitat. Somehow, I threw this cricket right into Badger’s web, down the hole, right to his freaking mouth! I felt really bad at first, like I must of scared the crap out of him. But he ate it! Maybe I made his day! I could never do it again if I tired every single time. He is still very timid but not when it comes to dinner.
I saw our tarantula catch a cricket last weekend. Badger is a bad ass.
Badger is eating a lot of crickets. He ate fifteen last week and has consumed six in the past three days. That seems to be a lot for a little tarantula. The point is that the girls and I had to go to the store for more gut-loaded crickets. One pet store had recently sent us a $5 coupon so we didn’t go to the regular place. We searched by ourselves and were unable to find crickets. When we asked if they sold them, a
jerk salesperson said, “Yes - they are by the fish.” After more searching, Fallie started to giggle. Why? She was standing still and realized that she could HEAR crickets! She couldn’t see them - they were on a shelf, way above her head - right where she thought they would be!
