Late birthday presents in the mail (it makes my birthday last longer)
thrift store books for kids
- Usborne Discovery Internet-Linked Snakes by Rachel Firth & Jonathan Sheikh-Miller because we have found several snakes this summer and watched them eat mice at the nature preserve recently.
- Best Friends for Frances by Russell & Lillian Hoban because we love Frances and don’t have this one. Also, the illustrations in this copy are lovely and muted, not the too bright colors of the newer edition.
- Emily the Strange Morphing Journal by Chronicle Books for Finn because she loves journals. She also has an Emily Strange skateboard deck and action figure with cat. The image of Emily on the cover slowly morphs into a black cat and is pretty cool.
- There is one page ripped out of the journal but nothing was written in it.
- The Second Usborne Book of Solve it Yourself Mysteries looked cheesy but interesting for eight and nine year olds.
