I had several dreams about Ulysses in one night* and woke up repeating this word over and over again in my head.  I finally read it in the book last night. *At one point I dreamt that I was actually reading this book.  All I could see in the dream were the pages of the book, my lap, and my hand turning the pages.  That has never happened before.

jolly roger (2006 - 2009)
His burial service will be this afternoon. mumblelard: Our Madagascar hissing cockroach, Jolly Roger, died sometime yesterday.  He was very active until near the end. He is survived by his brother Tootsie Roll.

Fallie’s conference went very well.  I think K actually passed on some information that will really help her teacher.  Many adults do not get Fallie, but her new teacher seems to understand her and knows more about her personality than previous teachers.  Apparently all the kids like to watch Fallie draw and even the teacher’s kids have commented on her drawings of animals.  The...

As expected, Finn is doing well at her new school.  She likes to follow the rules, stays out of trouble, is responsible and helpful.  The thing that surprised me, and made me laugh out loud, is that sometimes Finn sings in class at the end of the day.  Shy, quiet, sweet, good little Finn, sings out loud in her classroom.  She probably doesn’t even know she is doing it.  This is hilarious to...

It is a teacher work day today and the girl children get a three day weekend!  The girls and I made chocolate chip cookie dough this morning after they and Mumblelard had breakfast.  Then everybody got to eat two gigantic spoonfuls of raw cookie dough.  It was my breakfast and it was delicious.
