Gopher Guts scratched her own eyeball or something the other day. Do not worry - she was perfectly normal the next morning. She squinted all day long and looked like a pirate. The weird thing was that the eye she kept closed had a smaller pupil than the normal one…
Fallie wrote a story about a stuffed animal of hers, a little Siamese cat named Daffodil. It involved land planarians! LAND PLANARIANS!
Favorite pieces from the High Museum yesterday.
The Skull Girls are making weapons.
I asked Fallie what she was looking at when she ran to the window this morning. Her reply was, “Ladybug superfly.” I asked if she liked that song and she said yes. My day has been made.
Bug Girl got it!
Yes! A tiny little Mantisfly! Sorry the picture is not very good, and there is nothing for scale (I love that you use Jolly Ranchers by the way!). This little critter’s face is adorable and he (or she) has such tiny little antennae. Fallie saw it in a window and ran outside, yelling for someone to get her a bug jar.
buggirl replied to your photo: If you look closely, you can see Fallie’s latest…
Is it a Mantisfly???
audiogeography asked: The plant you were asking about is called Balsam Apple. Don't know much about it other than it's poisonous and a pain to get rid of if it starts growing.
That’s it! Thanks a ton! We can do some research now that we know what it is called.
We keep a stack of old towels in the bathroom right by the door for her to clean her feet with every day.
Anyone know what this vine is? Fallie found it in central Florida last month… It looks so alien and cool… Someone said it is an invasive species but didn’t know any more than that.
