fishy
I took Fallie to get opinion number four* on her foot this morning. The landscaping at this office (where they have successfully treated numerous broken bones for the skull girls and we should have gone to first) made me smile and think it would be okay. Looks like a hairline fracture on the outer part of her right foot. She got a fracture boot and is going to listen to the doctor and stop running and jumping for three weeks.
*First doctor said two fractures. Second doctor said no fractures. Doctor number three was an effing quack! He noticed that her hurt foot was red on the top while her non-injured foot was normal (could it be from the tight splint that she just removed from the hurt foot?), the injured foot is swollen (duh!) and the eight year old said it hurts when he touches her skin (it hurts more in certain parts of the foot but she is going to say it hurts if the creepy man touches any where close to the injury)… so it must be Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a chronic, painful, and progressive neurological condition that affects the skin, muscles, joints, and bones! Ahhhhhhhhhh! He wanted her to go to a pediatric center for pain relief.
old one foot*
I took Fallie to the urgent care facility today. She has been limping on and off for a week but yesterday her foot looked swollen and it was hurting in a different place than originally described. Holy crap! How can you run around on a broken foot? How can you run around with TWO broken bones in your foot?! She has a splint until we can get in to see the pediatric orthopedist.
*She still has two feet but only one is working so we have brought back her old nickname.
that went well
I just got home from the grocery store where I broke a jar of dill pickles (so sorry cashier - that is gonna smell all day long) and I found out that my favorite ice cream is no longer being sold.
seriously the best French Toast I have ever made
Burb*
We made this little black mouse for Fallie’s friend who is coming over tomorrow (he is friends with Lowl). This one is named after another of Fallie’s favorite internet slang terms, BRB. She thinks it is hilarious when her classmates (second graders!) try to pronounce the letters like a word (LOL and OMG are her other favorites but I’ sure she knows more than she tells me).
* I thought she spelled the names like the abbreviations but I was wrong.
new skull girl shoes
because she got the old ones more than a year ago and they are wearing out and have been worn while exploring countless times in the red clay and puddles and these were on sale and still there two days later in her size
Honeyduke’s treat bag
These will hold gold-wrapped chocolate coins, pop rocks and gummy centipedes.

thank you giantevilhead*!
We got an amazing gift from one of our favorite tumblrs! Thank you! The squirrel is even creepier and more fascinating in person! This is going to be an interesting family project…
* I am mailing something to you & the wee girl today!
